The 20 frame insulated hive (walls and bottom 9 R-value) comes with 20 wired frames and a follower board included. Hive is painted white with exterior paint. No alternate colors are offered. Hive stands and wax foundation are ordered separately. Please use the special instructions box below if you only want 2" starter strips verses full sheets of foundation.

Ventilated lids come standard with the 20 frame hive. They can be upgraded to insulated lids (R-14) upon request.
Hives come standard painted with white exterior paint. No alternate colors are offered. If you want to have us add a splash of color we have 8 design options for the front only that you can pick from. You can also choose "Special Order" where our in-house art designer will contact you and discuss your custom request and price. If you select "Special Order" from the dropdown please include in the Special Instructions box below the method and time of day you prefer to be contacted. Remember that hive stands can be ordered separately and come in a standard green.

Our swarm boxes are unique in that they are built out of 3/4" plywood making them idea if you want to overwinter a nuc. Nuc is painted white with exterior paint. No alternate colors are offered. The nuc also comes with a follower board so you can keep a swarm or split in it over the summer to build up. Appropriate lid ventilation is provided to reduce summer overheating possible in unvented models. Finally, hive entrances are provided in the front and back allowing a beekeeper to configure the box as two 3 frame queen mating nucs making this swarm box a 3-in-1 design increasing the all year value of this purchase. Hive stands and wax foundation are ordered separately. Please use the special instructions box below if you only want 2" starter strips verses full sheets of foundation.

Our Migratory Nuc box is made from 11/32" plywood and the Migratory lid is made from 5/8" plywood. All parts are painted white with exterior paint. The box doesn't come with frames or a follower board. These can be ordered separately. The boxes are light and great for spring splits or even as a swarm trap.
